Hi, my name is River (formerly Chowder #1090). Yes, as you can tell from the photo, I am a very handsome boy!
I am quickly settling into my new forever home. It was hard for me to leave my foster mom and dad (Jessica and Jonathan), and my three foster sisters (Lizzy, Ginny and Spirit). They treated me so well and I miss them, but, my new family is great! I now have three 'human' brothers (they're what my mom calls "triplets" whatever that means. All I know is they are a lot of fun!) I have two kitty buddies, but they don't seem to pay me much attention. My mom and dad are great too. My mom and I take walks early in the morning (I am such a good boy on my leash), and my dad stays at home with me during the day. I even get to ride in the car to take my brothers to school. My family gives me lots and lots of love (but, then again, I do deserve it!).
Life in the mountains certainly is different than in the city. I have a lot of acreage to run (my mom keeps a close eye on me), and it's so quiet at night that I sleep through the night. (Did I tell you how good I am?)
My first week here was great especially the food! I guess my mom and dad didn't really know what "counter surfing" was until I got here. I like chicken curry; mom's freshly baked banana bread, and Costco apple pie (yum!). I even tried the Tupperware that the curry was in, but I didn't like that so much. I think they have learned that they shouldn't leave any human food out it's too good for me to pass up.
Well, I have to go now it's time for me to go for a walk. If you see my foster family, please tell them I miss them, but that I am really, really happy in my forever home.

Howdy,
My name is "Chowdy", actually Chowder (#1090), and as you can see, I'm an adorable 20 month old male Golden mix. My Foster Mom and Dad tell me I perhaps have some Springer Spaniel heritage.
I love my three foster Golden sisters, and our play at the off leash park is so much fun. I am not too interested in a tennis ball, as my foster sisters are very competitive. So I am usually sniffing around and exploring, which makes me happy. My leash manners are very good and the car rides are the best, especially when the window is open. I never want to be left behind.
