Success Story: Riley (#1091)
Adopted April 3, 2005
If finding a "forever home" with the help of Golden Bond was a contest, then Riley (#1091) has definitely hit the jackpot. A senior dog, Riley has gone to Oregon City to live with Linda and Skip, who were dog-less for over a year and a half after the loss of their Dalmatian, Justy. Deciding that they had been without that special love that only a pet would provide they opened their hearts to Sugar, the cat, and Spice, a pug/beagle mix. Riley is the frosting and Linda describes him as "a perfect pleasure with the most expressive eyes and ears". Riley, who was found wandering the streets in Salem, has been guaranteed all the love and ball-throwing he could ever possibly need in his golden years. In return he has quickly taken claim to Skip, sleeping at his side every night and learned that seeing Linda pick up her purse was the signal to pour on the charm to get to tag along for a ride in the car.
Thank you Linda and Skip for providing this wonderful home.
Update May 27, 2005
Hello I wanted to share my pictures of Riley with you. Riley has been with us for about a month now. Every morning he greets us with his tennis ball waiting for someone to start the day with games and treats. When he sees me with my purse he gets all excited, he loves riding in the car. Thank you for Riley and all the work you do for the animals.
Sincerely,
Linda
Riley's "Available" Story
My name is Riley (#1091). Actually, that name was given to me by a nice lady from Golden Bond when I was rescued from the shelter, after I had been found wandering the streets. The vet thinks I am nine to ten years old, but I stay trim and in good shape because I love to retrieve tennis balls. I even will drop the ball right in your hand, hoping you will toss it again. I also like to go on walks. I need some help getting into the back of the SUV because it's pretty high. I do just fine getting up and down stairs. The vet says I have a heart murmur, but I don't need any medication. I get along with other dogs and am great with children.
