For the Love of Goldens
Adopted February 1, 2005
Once in a great while life may bring you an unexpected treasure. However, my experience has been that Golden Bond brings them more frequently. I had just released a "Mr. Sweetheart" foster to his forever home and the very next day I was asked if I could foster another. There was a sad and lonely-looking, 9-year-old guy in the shelter and Golden Bond would rather not have him stay there another minute. I was going to take a short break before fostering the next one. And, it was New Year's Eve after all. Well, what better way to spend it than by taking this smelly, matted sweetie for a nice long walk, then to the doggie wash, offer him some good food and make a soft, comfy bed for him to sleep on in a warm home. I couldn't think of a better way to usher out the old year and bring in the new.
The resident Golden Bond Rescue, Emma, welcomed Cooper (#1159) with exuberant tail wags and "open paws". Within 24 hours the two became fast pals and were rolling around the yard. And, within 24 hours, this temporary foster made his way deep into his foster Mom's heart and became a "full-term" foster. And, within 30 days, this Golden with the soulful brown eyes found his forever home right here and became the second resident Golden Bond Rescue in our family.
Cooper, we do not know much about your previous 9 years. We do know that you are a sweet, gentle Golden and have brought so much joy to us. We also know that you are definitely home... forever.
You never know when life may bring you an unexpected treasure... Golden Bond brings them quite often.
