Success Story: Foxy (#1162)

Adopted April 30, 2005

Amber and Foxy
Amber (left) and Foxy/Abby (right)
Foxy (#1162) (now Abby) has made herself at home very quickly and seems to be adjusting to all the activity our house has to offer. And all family members have enjoyed having her around. Very early on we had some of our daughter's track team members over for dinner and she did wonderful in a group setting. She is also very well mannered when she interacts with Amber our senior Golden. Kudos to Abby's foster parents as she has come to us well adjusted.

We have some things to work on like pulling on the leash with excitement as we go on walks, trying to keep those big paws off when she greets us, and her new name :) Our plan is to take some obedience classes in the near future.

Thanks for helping us find this wonderful dog!

Sincerely,
Bob, Sandy, Stacie, and Jordan

Foxy's "Available" Story

Foxy
Foxy (#1162) is a fun loving girl that looks for people to give her pets and belly rubs. She is very expressive with her head and eyes. It is funny to see her tilt her head and raise her eyebrows when she hears new and interesting sounds.

Foxy was a stray and came to Golden Bond from SW Washington Humane Society. Then she spent some time at Murray hill Veterinary Hospital. By the time she got to her foster home she had her hair and nails done and was spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. She is about 1 year old, and is healthy and trim with medium energy level.

Foxy gets along well with other dogs and likes people, but is a little shy with men when she first meets them. She will bark when there is something she thinks her family should know about. The tug rope and ball are her favorite toys and water is just fascinating. On cold mornings she jumps in the wading pool and blows bubbles while bobbing for ice. She is learning 'Sit', 'Stay', 'Down' and leash walking and doing very well. She is crate-trained and house-trained and also rides well in the car. Management and training are required because she is still a puppy. In her foster home she gets most of her breakfast stuffed in Kong toys along with a rawhide or pigs ear to keep her busy while her foster family is at work. FoxyShe loves company and would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time. Cats are very interesting to her and she will probably chase them if given the chance, so a home without cats would be best. She doesn't jump up but, she does like to paw when she is being petted and because we don't know her history with children, she is not suited for a family with children under 12.

If you want a companion for walks and play in the park, Foxy could be just the pal for you.
