For the Love of Goldens
Adopted March 5, 2005
Honey (#1173) has had a busy winter! She was surrendered to Golden Bond by a breeder after having spent the last two years of her life in a kennel. Less than a week after she was enjoying a more comfy life in her new foster home, she was featured in an Oregonian article about fostering dogs. Three weeks later, she found a permanent new home with Barbara and Carroll. They hadn't planned to get another dog for awhile (their previous golden, Emily, died last fall) but Honey's photo and the article in the newspaper "called" to them.
Honey's name fits her well she is a sweet, quiet, loving, well-mannered dog. She loves napping on a soft comfy bed, playing with tennis balls, getting treats for obeying commands, and going on walks. Rivers and lakes are fine as long as she only has to get her paws wet. She likes other dogs but hugs, loves and kisses from her human companions are the very best thing in the world to Honey. She will quietly sit in the kitchen in hopes of someone seeing her and giving her a hug or two. Her new mom and dad are working to get her skin and coat healthy and to give her love and attention to make up for at least two years of being alone and neglected. Honey a media star for one day in the newspaper is now a star in Barbara and Carroll's loving home.
