Success Story: Annie (#1189)

Adopted April 27, 2005

Annie
We want to let all the volunteers at Golden Bond know how much we appreciate all you do. We are so in love with Annie (#1189). My husband has been out of town, but he is home now so he can help me put our feelings about her into words.

It never ceases to amaze me how the angels can bring a touch of joy into your life when your heart is broken. We lost our beloved golden Jasper a few weeks ago to cancer. It was very unexpected, so even harder to accept. I wasn't sure I could open my heart up to another dog. And then, I met Annie. She won me over instantly and I fell head over heels in love. She has bonded with our family so easily and I think she needed us as much as we needed her.

Annie still has a lot of puppy in her at 16 months old, and loves carrying around every ones socks in her mouth. She loves playing with our kids, Lindsey (age 7) and Joe (age 5) . Much to my husband Bob's delight (not a cat lover) she loves to play with our cat O'Malley. O'Malley, on the other hand, is not so sure about Annie and has been chased into hiding on more than one occasion. Other times, O'Malley will hide behind a chair and jump out and "attack" Annie. They are really enjoying each other. She is amazingly gentle and affectionate. She has the run of our backyard and house and enjoys every square inch.

Annie is a true gift to our family. Every time I look at her she makes me smile. How great is that?

Thank you to Golden Bond and all of the many volunteers. You not only give these beautiful animals a second chance but you gave us unconditional love from our little Annie.
