Success Story: Cleo (#1192)

Hello. My name is Cleo (#1192). I came to Golden Bond after a very bad day. I was given up by my people, given a lot of shots and my puppy factory was removed — all in one day! I had eye and ear infections and lots of lick granulomas on my poor legs. I was underweight and felt very sad. Carla picked me up from the animal shelter and took me home to her Many Paws Kennel.

That evening, Shadow and his person, Pat, arrived. She listened to my sad story and wanted to meet me. I licked her hand and then hid my head between her knees to shut out a world that had treated me harshly. She said I was a very sweet dog and she would like to foster me when she returned from her trip.

While she was gone, Shadow and I became best buddies. He is so much fun to play with and treats me very kindly. When Pat returned, she had changed her mind about fostering — she wanted to adopt me immediately!

Now I am in my forever home. Shadow and I have so much fun — we chase each other in the back yard, go for walks twice a day, play tug-of-war with rope toys (we've destroyed two already). I have my own bed to sleep in, and Pat lets me get on the couch! I have tried to make friends with the cat, but she's a sourpuss and tells me to keep my distance. Perhaps if I would quit stealing food from her dish when she's not looking... I'm a very happy dog now.
