Success Story: Blazer (#1194)

Adopted May 27, 2005

Blazer
We are so happy to have Blazer as part of our family! Since joining our family we have been to the doctors 4 times, but finally the ears have cleared up (no more antibiotics or ear ointment — yeah!) and the shoulder is coming along slowly (still on med's for that sprained shoulder.) The hurt shoulder doesn't slow him down much and the boys (Sparky is our Golden adoption #1) romp all day long (no leaping allowed while the shoulder heals.) "Sparky" and "Blazer", hmmm... we definitely have a fiery duo to add excitement to our lives. They are so good for each other. Foster parents Marla and Jeff have been incredibly helpful with letting us visit a couple times a week and the "gang" of puppies socialize in the backyard. Blazer is learning the ropes about walking on a leash, sniffing the cat, sleeping on the bed, and riding in the car with Sparky. I even took him to work with me one day and everyone had to tell him how beautiful he is. So much love in this world when you are not locked up in a garage — wow! Luckily, I have the entire summer off to spend every minute spoiling them both rotten.

Blazer is such an important part of our lives (never a dull moment with a puppy in the house.) Not only did we get a bundle of energetic joy but new friends with Marla and Jeff. Life just doesn't get much better than this. Thank you Goldenbond for once again sharing the love and laughter that goldens bring to life!

Blazer's "Available" Story

Blazer
Hi, my name is Blazer (#1194), although my foster Mom and Dad usually call me Cody; they say it just seemed to fit. I am a very loving 9-month-old male. I currently weigh 67 pounds, and have dark eyes that make me look like a pirate. I am house trained and love using the dog door to let myself in and out.

I play hard during the day and sleep hard all night long. I get along well with my foster siblings. I do still chew some and soft toys are no challenge for me, so hard rubber toys are the toy of choice right now. I am learning to leave shoes alone, but sometimes I forget and carry them around when I get a chance.

Foster mom says children in my forever family should be over five. Also, I haven't seen many cats, so I'm not sure what to do about them.

If there is water around I will find it and play in it. I will even climb into my water dish if that is all that is available. I LOVE the water.

Blazer
I enjoy a good game of fetch (although I don't always bring the toy back) and enjoy running in the back yard. Chasing the squirrels in the back yard is a lot of fun, also. Walking on a leash is pretty cool, I enjoy getting out and seeing the world. I know how to sit when asked, and I am working hard on trying to learn how to lie down when asked.

I enjoy my foster family and keep very close track of what they are doing during the day and evening. I am shy when I first meet new people, but I do warm up quite quickly. Trust is an issue with me and I need a family that I can trust to love me forever. I love to snuggle and will gladly roll over for belly rubs.
