I just had to write and let you know that I have been adopted and guess who by? Toni, my foster mom finally decided that she is really the best home for me and so I get to stay right here! She knows that we need each other.
The truth is that I don't see very well nor do I hear very well, so I have some problems getting around and since I have been here a while I get around with no problems. It is just Toni and me so I get a lot of attention. She even comes home everyday at lunch to give me my half-hour walk, which by the way, I get each morning before she leaves too.
Needless to say we are both happy campers and I lead the good life. I just hope all the other Goldens up for adoption will find their forever home soon also. Even though I am 13, I know we will have several happy years together.
Dallas's "Available" Story
Dallas (#1204) is one of the most handsome elderly gents to cross our doorstep. Tied inside a garage after his owner passed away, Dallas was rescued by a kind soul who took him in and called Golden Bond. Dallas has a strong character and definite opinions. With a dignified, deep "woof", he will signal a particularly delicious smell from the kitchen. When it's time for his daily walk, he prances excitedly and wants to be first out the door... no way will be he left behind! He gets along well with the resident dog and has ignored an indoor cat. Although he doesn't see nor hear quite as well as he once did and has some arthritis in his back legs, he is otherwise healthy and seems to belie his reported age of 13. In foster care, he's begun wagging his tail again, enjoys roaming a small back yard, and keeps very close tabs on his foster mom. This sweet guy asks only for a soft bed, good food, and a loving home to live out his days in peace and happiness. Should your heart be big enough to adopt Dallas, you will be richly rewarded with his affection, trust, and gratitude.
