Placement Procedure
Thank you for your interest in adopting one of Alice's puppies. Please read the following steps. Required applications are listed at the end of this page.
- Submit the standard Golden Bond Adoption Application (see below) with application fee, have a home visit, and be approved to adopt.
- Complete and submit the Supplemental Puppy Application (see below) to Adoption Team for approval (may be included with original application). Many factors will be considered, most important of which will be experience with dogs, in general, and puppies, in particular, and sufficient time to devote to socializing and training a puppy.
- Upon approval by the Adoption Team, applicant will be placed on a list in order of approval date. Applicant's choice of puppy will be in order of application approval. With Adoption Team approval, applicant may then choose any puppy not already spoken for. The formal adoption must take place at the time the puppy is chosen in order to guarantee adoption of the applicant's choice of puppy.
- The adoption fee for a puppy is $300. The puppies may be formally adopted, by completing the Adoption Contract and paying the adoption fee. The puppy will not be released to the new owner until after the neutering and spaying surgeries in mid June.
- All puppies will have been neutered or spayed and will have had their first set of shots before leaving Golden Bond. It will be the responsibility of the adopter to follow through with the second and third in the series of puppy shots. Golden Bond will require proof that the series of puppy shots has been completed. The dates for the neuter and spay surgeries are June 15, 2005 and June 16, 2005. Puppies who have been adopted may be picked up on June 17, 2005 and June 18, 2005.
Any puppies not adopted at that time will go to individual foster homes to wait for their new families to find them.
- Please call Golden Bond at 503-892-2897 or email goldenbondrescue@yahoo.com if you have any questions.
