Success Story: Chloe (#1212)

Adopted October 31, 2005

Chloe (#1212) settled right in, gets along great with our two cats, Spook and Jock. She was a little shy about going outside because she was left outside before all the time, but she quickly learned that she could come back in anytime. She hasn't had any accidents, and has been a joy to be around.

Her only real problem is if there is something she doesn't want to do, she plays "dead dog" and at almost 90 lbs. it can be a real challenge to make her do otherwise. Luckily she has only done this twice and my husband Joe was there both times to convince her that she needed to follow our instructions. She enjoys jumping on our bed and throwing her front leg over you, just to let you know she is there.

We have been more than happy with our choice and we looking forward to many years having her as our companion and friend. We both thank Golden Bond for what they have given us and for what they are doing for other Goldens who need permanent homes.

Chloe's "Available" Story

Hi, I am Chloe (#1212) I am 5 years old and weigh around 88 pounds. I am a big girl, but no fat can be found on me. I am looking for a home that doesn't have any other dogs in it. I wouldn't mind the doggie company, but I can be quite bossy and I do love to steal toys and such away from them. There are two other dogs here — one golden and one not. I get along very well with Talus (non golden) we are both into the same things, sort of. But that other dog, Floyd, sure gets on my nerves. I think you could call him a mama's boy. I love to steal his toys, no matter what it is: stick, ball, etc. Oh how I love to torture him and tease him — oh what fun!

Anyways, back to me...

I have been with my foster family for a while now and I have learned so much here. I used to be an outside dog only and my foster family has shown me the wonderful world of being an indoor dog. I have been learning the art of telling my foster family when I need to go outside. I have been doing a great job of this. Now I just have to wait for my foster family to get off the couch and come and open the door.

I am looking for a family that has lots of love and patience for me. I get along great with cats, horses, and kids. I would love to find a home that has kids to play with me, but any home would be wonderful. I am very strong so I can easily pull a grown person when going for a walk. I can't help it. There are so many things for me to see and smell... I have to get to them all.

My foster mom wanted me to add this part: "It has been really wonderful watching Chloe blossom into the wonderful dog that she is today. She still has a little ways to go before she is perfect. She gets bursts of energy and will tear through the house and run around the yard. She definitely needs a home with a large yard to accommodate her activity level. She has the cutest smile and always seems to be having a great time."
