Abbi
Hi People!

I have been with my forever family for about a month now. They love it when I cuddle with them or use them as a pillow while I watch TV. People often asked how I got my new name. You see, I am a special gift. No, really, I AM! I am Don and Sandy's Annie-versary gift.

Little things in life keep me happy. I'm especially happy that Molly, the 17 year-old black kitty, is now my friend. It took me a week to slowly approach her with my curious nose. Now, she only hisses at me when I lick her face too much. I try to be friends with other little things, like bugs and spiders. But, when I try to lick them, they disappear.

My big backyard is lovely. I love to join my kitty friend Molly while we lay on the sunny deck. Sometimes, I lie on the cool grass and sniff the air while Don gardens. I love it when the little brown squirrels run along the fence. I chase them and yelp with glee.

I'm young and have lots to learn. My family is grateful that I play with my own toys like Cuddle Bear and Kong. They are patient with my adolescent energy — especially when I get the "Zoomies" and race around the house or the yard. I've learned not to bark at everyone who passes by or sounds that go bump in the night. Being in my crate is not thrilling. It's more fun playing on the bed while my people sleep. I still have to learn about not jumping on people or mouthing their arms.

A few weeks ago I experienced five days at my beach house in Neskowin. I love the beach and cannot find enough sea gulls to chase. The thrill of racing out to the surf and getting hit by a salty wave is just incredible. I think I am going to be a surfer when I grow up. I heard Don tell someone I am an athlete. I'm not sure what that means, but I think it is good.

This is a picture of me with my big brother, Taylor, who comes to see me from the University of Portland. I like sitting in his lap to lick his face. The other picture doesn't show you how pretty my tail is feathering, but don't I look cute!

Thank you, Golden Bond, my first family, and my foster family. Don't worry, I've settled in and life is good. Go Beavers!

Love,
Annie

Abbi's "Available" Story

Abbi
Hi, I'm Abbi (#1269). I am an adorable, 9 month old female puppy. I have already been spayed and microchipped. I'm considered petite because I only weigh 48 lbs., but my smaller size just adds to my cuteness.

I am very sweet and eager to please. I already know how to sit, stay, come, lie down, speak, and fetch. I will do these especially well if you have a treat for me. I walk very well on a leash when I am wearing a gentle training leader and am learning to walk without one. I sleep happily in my crate at night and am good about waiting in my crate when you're gone. I'm also housebroken.

In my foster home I live with 2 cats and another dog. I LOVE to play with the other dog. I have lots of puppy energy so I can play with my dog pal all day and still have energy to take a walk with you. Even with all my energy, I do like to take naps during the day. My favorite place to nap is right at your feet. When the neighbor's dogs bark or my dog pal takes my toy I will bark. Otherwise, I don't usually bark. Most of the time the cats are hiding, but I do like to watch them when I can. If I had the chance to chase them when they ran, I might.

I can get nervous around my food, especially when small children are present. When I get nervous I roll over on my back and growl. I would feel more comfortable in a home with older children or no children. Since I've been with my foster family I haven't been any trouble. Usually they let me eat in a quiet place, which I appreciate. They always make me sit and wait while they put the food down and I don't try to rush at the food bowl. Occasionally while I'm eating they pet me or my dog pal comes to see what I'm doing, and I have been fine with that. Just to be on the safe side, my foster family gives me rubber chew toys instead of bones or pig's ears. I LOVE getting treats, though, and have no problem eating treats from your hands.

I am VERY affectionate and cuddly. I have lots of love and kisses saved for the family who adopts me.
