Girlfriend
Hi Golden Bond Rescue Angels!

I do apologize for taking so long to get back to you, but I recently returned to my new home after a week at the Oregon Coast, which was sunny and warm. Sometimes I had to wear a visor — it was so bright! In my past life as "Girlfriend," I didn't go to the ocean, so this was a perfect way to start my new family life.

My Forever Home is great and I love it that my Dad (Ray) and Mom (Mary) fell for me in a big way, fast, flunked out of Fostering 101 and adopted me instead. My big brother (and he is BIG) Dexter, likes having me here, but I can easily wear him out, as he is close to 15. That's 105 in dog years! Dad says Dexter "tolerates" me which I think means the same as "loves."

In a little over a month, I have gained many new pals (Zoe, Milo, Justin, neighbor pups and others) and lost eight or nine pounds because of all the long walks we go on every day. This weekend we got sopping wet on walks, which almost led to another name change from "Helen Gurley Brown" to "Helen Curly Brown." I like my Forever Name Helen but my friend Jake (who calls my mom and dad "Grandma" and "Grandpa") still calls me Gurley so that's OK, too. He comes for sleepovers a lot and is my new best friend. He loves me lots and I love him, especially when he pets me and hugs me, which is most of the time.

I can't wait to go to Banks and visit my friends Spike and Jasper. They have acreage and a pool, and Dexter says it's a great place to run around and play and swim. He says Carol has lots of treats. Jasper came from Golden Bond so he is like my "soul brother." I might marry him someday after my indoor manners are perfected.

Thank you for introducing me to my people. I feel it is a perfect fit, even though they do not give me snacks from their plates. I don't feel this is quite fair, but I'm focusing on the positives and trying to overlook the little stuff. Overall, life is great in Raleigh Hills!

I am enclosing some photos which spotlight my great beauty. I like my new, slimmer self and am thinking about becoming a model.

I love you, Golden Bond! I truly won the doggie lottery and can't wait to see my story on your website! You can pick any of these photos you like — I look great in all of them!
