Success Story: Rudy (#1282)

Adopted May 31, 2006

Rudy

We adopted Rudy (#1282) June 1, 2006. As you can see from the picture, he is a pretty red retriever. He seems to enjoy his new home and I think he is adjusting very well. He is very loyal and attentive. He follows me everywhere and just loves pets and all the attention he can get. He gets along well with my two other small dogs, a six pound, 13 year old Maltese names Honey. She is totally top dog. My other small dog is Ruby. She is a 3 year old Pomeranian, and a hefty four pounder! He really loves my husband Ed and is always waiting at the back door when he comes home from work. Rudy and I usually go for nice long walks at Mt. Tabor park 3 times a week. He really loves Mt. Tabor and gets so happy when he sees that we are headed for the park. We also live close to Powell Butte and take him for regular walks there.

Three weeks after we got him we went on a camping trip to Steens Mountain. He did wonderful camping. We took lots of walks and he went swimming every day. He slept under my cot every night and was quiet as a mouse. We also enjoy taking him to the river. In fact, any lake or river will do. Like most retrievers, he is crazy about water! I think he'd make a good dock dog, because he can really charge in the water after sticks. His real love is tennis balls. He'll wear anyone out throwing tennis balls for him. He is also turning out to be a great watchdog. He has a loud bark and lets me know when someone is at the front door.

We really love having Rudy as part of our family. He is a wonderful friend.
