I've been in my forever home for eight weeks now. I'm doing really well, it's just taken a bit longer for me to adjust and figure out that I am safe. I'm still demure, but I'm finding my personality now with a bit of attitude (just call me Princess). My coat was light blonde and like straw; now I have dark reddish golden silky feathers. I weighed nearly 100 pounds and my waist was over 40 inches, but now my waist goes in as I have lost over 10 inches. I'm a country dog now. I can go a long way before I get to the other fence. I started out waddling around this yard, now I run with my head and tail held high! I have gotten over my confusion with other dogs and realize they won't attack me. I bark at some and if they run after me too fast, I hide behind people. Since my yard is like my own dog park, I invite the nice, mellow neighbor dogs over so I can learn socialization. I've also gotten over my fear of men (for the most part, unless they are really loud or around loud engines). I'm even doing obedience stuff. I started out pulling when we walked since I had never been on a leash, but I have figured out this walking thing. Now I sit and wait and I carry my leash around in my mouth (which seems to amuse people). I really impress them when I come so quickly even when I'm running with my friends. When I complete obedience and get a bit more settled, I expect to get a Golden companion. We certainly have plenty of room and beds and toys.
I really want to thank Debra and Mike (my foster folks) for getting me started on my transformation and for picking a good forever home for me. Thanks Golden Bond.

Given mostly people food and hardly any exercise she has gained quite a bit of excess weight. It took a little while for her to adjust to better eating habits but she's lost 5 lbs. since coming to her foster home. She can even jump into the truck by herself now with a little running start! Macy is very congenial and easy going, gets along with other dogs as long as they aren't too rowdy. She loves cats too!
Due to her size, Macy would do well in a home with older children. She likes going for rides, soft beds to lay on and squeekies! If you're looking for a quiet Golden with a velvety muzzle and silky ears who loves attention, then Macy is your girl!
