Success Story: Dusty (#1300)
Adopted October 24, 2005
Hi Everybody! Remember me... Dusty (#1300)? I was adopted in October by my new and forever family. I live in a little town called Morton, WA. It is up in the mountains. I really like my new home. There is the tall dad, that's Paul. He takes me on these long hikes in the most amazing places! My nose goes crazy with all the smells! We were playing hide and seek one day. Paul hid behind a tree and I couldn't find him. I wasn't sure what to do, so I let out the biggest howl I have ever had! Then Paul peeked out from behind the tree laughing and I raced over to get him. We have alot of fun going exploring together in the forest, I love our adventures.
Then there is the mom. I love her, she feeds me. I keep giving her my most heart melting "puppy-eyes" just hoping she will give me a snack off her plate, but she just says, "No, No, Dusty." So I just lay down. She takes me for walks in our neighborhood. I've been able to meet some of the other dogs on our street. It's hard to have much fun when they are behind a fence, though. Yesterday we went to a place called the Post Office. Wow! I love that place! So many people were happy to see me and gave me so many ear scratches! The trip to the bank was boring, but then the lady behind the glass smiled at me and gave me a biscuit! I guess the bank's not that bad.
My sister's name is Erin. Okay, she's not really my sister, because she's not a dog, but I think she's my sister. She is 10 years old and a lot of fun. I can't wait for her to get home from school each day. When she comes home, I run up and give her so many kisses! She takes me on walks with her friends. She takes me to the school and plays frisbee with me, too. I even played on some of the kid's toys at the school!
It has been snowing up here, lately. Boy, that white stuff sure is cold! It is fun to jump around in, though. I like it. I am sending you some pictures of the snow in my backyard. Kalli, the cat, keeps wanting to snuggle with me, but I'm not quite sure about her yet. Maybe she won't scratch me afterall. I heard Erin say that the cat used to sleep on top of their old Golden Retriever, Sunny. Wow. Sunny must have been brave. Cat's are kind of moody...
Well, I better save some room for some other Golden's stories. I hope you all like mine! I love my family and I am happy to live in such a pretty place with people who love me.
Love,
Dusty
Dusty's "Available" Story
Hi, my name is Dusty (#1300). I am 6-1/2 years old and I am looking for my forever home. Play is my game and I need lots of it. I know about invisible fences and I can learn just about anything. I love chasing balls, Frisbees or any other object you can throw. I am good around other dogs, my foster has two. I also ignore cats, they have one of those too. My foster mom thinks I would be good with children over the age of 8. I am a medium-sized athletic guy and I need your love. When I perceive I am being neglected, I have come up with a mournful howl that works quite well. I am not continuous with it, I just use it when I think it might work. What I need is a family or individuals who have some time to play, go on adventures and in return I will supply tons of licks, loves and laughs. What more could any human want?
