I arrived at my foster parent's home in Longview, Washington just before Christmas. Lee and Robin were missing their old black lab, Ginger, who crossed over the rainbow bridge last fall. And Lucy didn't like being an only dog either. The perfect set up for any Golden Bond foster parents to fall in love.
Things are sure different in this new home. Everyday, Robin or Lee take me out to run and play at a very wonderful place where I can chase bunnies and play with other dogs. I was thrilled when I discovered that a big river runs next to our path. I can jump into the water anytime I work up a sweat, which is everyday. Mom and Dad say that I am an awesome swimmer, and I don't shy away from the water no matter what the weather. They say it's the lab in me that makes me such a water dog. I love to swim after sticks. I also love to play tug-of-war and Lucy gives me some ripping competition in this sport.
Things are sure different from my couch potato days when I was lucky to get 15 minutes of exercise a day. Mom says I am losing my dumpling figure and starting to look pretty darned fit. The folks say I was kind of cranky and unsocial toward my sister, Lucy, when I arrived. Now I know that my new mom and dad have enough love for both of us. Everyday I get praises and belly rubs and lots of attention to prove it.
Remember me mentioning the perfect set up? My foster mom and dad decided they just couldn't part with me and here I am in my new forever home. I know I have a few things to work on, but my new parents think I am worth the effort. Lucky me! Thanks to the caring folks at Golden Bond, my life is a doggie dream come true.
In the picture, that's me (the blonde), Lucy (the redhead) and Dad.
