My name is Sophie, formerly Star (#1337) and boy do I have a story to tell!
I finally got to come home with my forever family, Phil, DaLee and Greg, on April Fools Day and decided to play a trick on them. After I let them think everything was going wonderful I found a new hole the neighbors made under the fence and behind the hedge. I decided to go explore the new neighborhood for the next two days! My new family had everyone looking in the area including friends, the postman, policemen and Golden Bond. They put up fliers everywhere. My new family and foster family were heartbroken. So, I finally decided to quit playing a trick when I heard my foster mom calling and saw how worried I had made her. My family thinks it was a miracle that I just came walking back.
Now that I have been in my new home for a few weeks I have decided it is ok for them to treat me like a queen. I learn something new everyday and my confidence has soared. They take the time to be patient with me because they know that I had a hard life before and don’t know about a lot of things. I am slowly learning to trust them and that big cat that lives here too! At first I gave him a lot of space but now we like to greet each other many times a day and like to check out what the other is eating! My family takes me on long walks and I get to revisit where I went on my solo trip! Car rides are fun too! Most of my day now is spent just following my mom around the house so she can have the honor of petting me as much as possible. I love to carry around the new stuffed toys I got and take them to bed with me.
Soon I will be going to some place called "the beach" quite often as I heard them say we will have another house there. I hope it is as fun there as it is here and that there are lots of toys there too.
My family says how grateful they are that my foster mom Marsha picked them to be my new forever family. I am happy she picked them too.
