It has been a crazy summer with lots of trips, most of which we have been able to take Obi (#1358) with us. He lOVES the coast! and has had lots of fun on our 3 visits there. He has also been included in the family initiation to car camping and is good camper. He is not too big of a tent-hog and he is good around the campsite. He is such a sweet guy. He helped me train for the half-marathon that I ran on 4th of July, he ran the 'under 8' mile runs with me. Unfortunately, he does not run fast enough to run with Chris for his marathon training, so he is stuck plodding along on my runs during the week.
We have come to a nice balance with the boys, they do not get knocked over everytime Obi turns around and they help take care of his feeding and water. They are alternately loving him and frustrated when he chews up a toy. The mantra at our house is "look around, if there is something you love on the floor, pick it up." So, I chalk that up to a success of integrating him into the family.
Obi also has a best friend, Lilly, the boxer next door. They romp and play whenever they can. We have actually been talking about putting a dog access gate between our yards so it would be easier to let them play. They can be a bit of a menace to the 2-year olds when they get going, so we give them some space!
Love, Lauren & Chris & Max & Walter & Obi
