Success Story: Nemo (#1382)

Adopted March 25, 2006

Nemo

Nemo (#1382) moved to his forever home in Tigard on March 25 and was renamed Simon. He is settling in quite well although he still shows anxiety when riding in the car, probably afraid he's being moved again.

The first day home he quickly figured out how to open the kibble container so we know he's smart. He didn't take long to realize the best place to spend the evening is in someone's lap and he's very cuddly. Simon loves to play ball and go for walks and has enjoyed exploring the surrounding neighborhoods and looking for new dog friends to meet. In a few weeks, we think he will be ready for an introduction to the nearby dog park for more playtime.

Since Simon was found as a stray, we don't know about his past and we are discovering things together- like how he likes to chase the ducks back into the pond and is eager to meet the neighbor children. We think Simon is about five years old and he does sometimes act like a teenager, testing the boundaries but is quick to learn what is acceptable behavior and is eager to please. He always has a smile on his face and in typical golden style loves to meet everyone.

We are planning to take him along on some vacations and are working on adapting him to car travel with which he has made progress. Simon has been a joy to have around and we look forward to many years of quality time together sharing many happy memories.
