Success Story: Noah (#1393)

Adopted April 4, 2006

Noah

Dear Golden Bond,

I'm writing in to tell you what a wonderful dog Noah (#1393) is. We started Noah's adventure by changing his name to Brody. He didn't really respond to Noah and I was concerned about him being able to differentiate between Noah and No! He answered to Brody almost immediately. He has the perfect temperament for our family and is everything and more than what we were hoping for.

Brody attached himself to my husband, John, immediately as he got into the car for the drive home. He has been so accepting of whatever we've asked him to do and we continue to be impressed by his good manners. Brody is my husband's constant companion, spending many hours with John in his shop and at his feet in the evening in our music room listening to banjo music. Brody also enjoys his walks with me through our neighborhood and will be making a visit to our local dog park very soon. He had a new adventure this week when I took him to the doggie wash. He sat very quietly as I shampooed, conditioned and dried him. He has bonded with the boss of the house, our Westhighland white terrier, Miki. Miki and Brody are on the constant lookout for the squirrels running across the top of our fence. Miki can be a bit of an alarmist when something happens outdoors so Brody has learned to back her up on what ever the excitement of the minute might be.

The only issue we had to work through during Brody's first few days with us was for Brody to allow us to wipe his feet. At first he would cry out before we even touched his feet. In a week's time he was allowing us to completely clean his feet and was even anticipating which foot we were picking up next! Brody is a very loving, gentle and trusting friend. We love him dearly.

It was been a pleasure working through the adoption process with Golden Bond Rescue of Oregon. A special thanks to Brody's foster parents, Don and Patty, and to Marice who did our home visit and expedited our introduction to Brody.
