Sam

Hi, my name is Sam. I came to Golden Bond because my last family had a young daughter and a new baby on the way, and they were concerned about having a large dog around their children.

Candace and Tim, aka, my about to be foster parents had been without a foster dog for several weeks. Nancy came by to visit one Sunday evening and they asked if there were any more dogs that needed a foster home. I wasn’t sure if they would take me at first because I growled at their dog for about an hour before I could go inside the house, but my new mom and dad saw my tail wagging and wanted to give me a try. Lucky me!

I look much older than I really am, and I won them over with my sweet and mature face. It didn’t take them long to see many more of my attributes. Like helping them train that blond dog they have called Beau Soliel, (I call him “Bo Silly”). That is when they realized I was just too good to let go to anyone else. I am such a clever guy! Now we are best friends. We stay close to each other all day and night. He isn’t so bad all.

I now have the run of the house and Candace and Tim take my brother and me whenever they go camping. They even find rivers for us to swim in, and back roads to hike on. I like it when my “dad” throws the ball for us. That is my chance to show off and let everyone know how smart I am. I am not as fast as Beau so I stand still until he becomes distracted and then I run over and grab the ball and take it back to Dad.

My dad and mom, and my human brother, Kyle, give me lots of love. I even get to sleep on a special new bed that they bought just for me. To show my appreciation I kiss my dad and crawl up on his lap sometimes. I am very happy in my new, forever home.
