Hello!
I was the lost Golden soul known as Sargent (Sarge) (#1400)
As you may have heard my story, I was discovered wandering the woods of Louisiana. I was very lost and starving, not to mention scared! A nice couple who drive a Semi-truck picked me up and took care of me for awhile. When they could no longer look after me, they turned me over to Golden Bond Rescue.
I blossomed under the TLC of my foster parents, Bob and Susie. I even had two new dog friends to play with. My foster parents totally saw what an awesome fellow I am and knew what potential I have. Lucky for me, early this summer, Bob and Susie selected my new forever family. It truly was love at first sight!
My new family has had a void in their hearts and home since losing their beloved Golden, Teddy to cancer January of 2005. Teddy was their second Golden, Darby was their first. My parents say I am a blend of the very best of Teddy and Darby! My mom calls me Teddy by accident sometimes, but I don't mind!
It was amazing how we instantly knew we were made for each other. I immediately settled in like I have lived here forever! Because I have traveled through more states than my family, and have gathered a fair amount of wisdom and courage along the way, my name is now Sage. I had absolutely no trouble learning my new name. I have spent the last few weeks bonding and mellowing out with my new family.
The humans in my family are my Mom and Dad, Susan and Peter, and my brothers, Chris and Cory. My new four-legged family consists of Hanna, a very elderly, bossy Dachshund; and two feisty cats, Callie and Sophie. I get along fine with Hanna, she tells me what to do and I listen because she has already trained the other two Goldens who lived here! I'm intrigued by the cats. It's hard not to chase them, especially when Callie taunts me!
Anyway, I'm very happy and have adapted to my new home just fine. I'm working on my manners all the time. I love my walks and playing with my toys in the backyard. My parents even got me my own pool! We are all going to take some trips this summer, maybe to the beach. I'm so excited! Hanna says it's really fun! My Mom is signing me up for obedience classes and we have a goal to start agility classes this fall.
