Success Story: Sandy (#1457)

Adopted October 10th, 2006

Sandy
This is Sandy (#1457), and if she doesn't look like a golden straight from the AKC conformation guidelines, it's because she's half golden and half border collie (so she's either a "Golder Retrollie" or a "Bolden Colliver;" take your pick). You can see that she's cute as a button.

We've had Sandy for about six weeks now. She loves having her tummy rubbed, ears scratched, and running around our private dog park with our two greyhounds, long-haired chihuahua, and foster golden. Sandy and the foster golden, Buddy, spend endless (to us) hours "mouth wrestling" in our living room. She also gets along well with our three cats. Sandy is pretty bright and has learned several commands quite quickly.

Considering she spent her first three years in a small outdoor kennel, she really hasn't had too many issues to work on, although she still wants to jump up on folks when she gets excited. She's really come out of her shell and adjusted well: for example, when she first got here, she had to be carried up the steps to the bedroom; now, she's the first to bound up there when bedtime comes, and she sleeps nicely on a dog bed next to her dad's side of the bed. We're hoping she has years of enjoyment living with us in her forever home.
