Abby is
another December birthday, who just celebrated turning one. She
joins Pam, Victor and Elizabeth. During their initial meeting,
Abby was
very well behaved for a young dog as they all sat on the floor
to play with
her. When Elizabeth held out a ball, Abby would just sit and wag
her tail
like "OK, can I have it now, please?" This loving dog
will get to go to work with Pam, whose employer encourages dogs
in the workplace. Abby will receive lots of attention, frequent
walks, and the opportunity to interact with other very friendly
dogs at work. In addition, this family makes regular trips to
the beach, and they can't wait to take Abby along!
Honey
was adopted by Nancy and James and their Golden Bond rescue, Kirby.
This newly formed family lives on Mt. Tabor so they all will have
wonderful walks twice daily. When not enjoying the outdoors Honey
will lounge on the sofas with Kirby, when no one is at home, of
course! This family loves their seniors as Kirby is 11 and Honey
is a quite spry 10-year-old. Both these "kids" are going
to get lots of attention, which they both crave and highly deserve.
Kirby and Honey are just about the sweetest couple that could
have been put together. Sounds like a match made in heaven and
a great forever family for everyone all around.
Honey
#202- This wonderful 10
year old female is patiently waiting for a new family. Honey's
life has been full of many changes the last couple of years. She
has been bounced around a bit due to things beyond her control:
divorce, allergies and remarriage. Her foster home says Honey
is easy, easy, easy!! Honey is a VERY well behaved, mellow golden.
She gets along with dogs, cats & children of ALL ages. She
loves nylabones and (especially) kongs! She also loves her meals
and treats, but is well-mannered in the kitchen and doesn't seem
to be a counter surfer. Honey appears to be very healthy for her
age! She is the perfect seasoned Golden- She has NO bad habits!
She's easy going, but VERY affectionate (she likes lots of petting!).
She is such an EASY dog to transition into a family. Honey would
be a great dog for any kind of family, even someone who has no
prior experience with dogs.
Jenny
has headed home with Lee, Lawrence, Chris, Holly and Alyssa. Here's
what Jenny's new adoptive Mom had to say. "Jenny is a SWEETHEART!!!!!
She
really is darling, seems to love the kids, does not bat an eyelash
at the
cats, and is a very mild-mannered Golden Girl! She truly is THE
perfect
match!"When Jenny's new family came to meet her, they had
bought a huge fluffy pillow bed for her. When they opened the
side door of their van, Jenny
immediately jumped up inside, and curled up on her bed. She has
made
herself at home, "sharing" a bed with the children,
and loves going for
walks in the woods around her new home.
Copper
has found his new forever home with Theresa, David and their children
Katherine and Davey. Driving home from the beach where Copper
had been
fostered, Theresa saw that her son had fallen asleep. Copper,
who was
sitting on the floor in the back seat, had his chin resting on
Davey's lap
while he slept...This lovable lap dog is definitely a keeper in
this family! They report he is a real peach, and everyone is in
love with him. They are looking into obedience training to continue
the training started in his foster home.
With reports from his foster mom that he is a fast learner, this
should be a
nice way for Copper to bond with his new family.
Looking for Tall, Dark Gold and Handsome?
Meet Copper
#180 , a 2 1/2 year old male. He has
a lovely dark gold coat that has a natural wave! A big boy, he
weighs about 90 pounds, but is not overweight. Copper loves
to go for walks, and his leash manners are improving daily. He
is good in
the car, and always ready to "Go for a ride?" Copper
grew up as an outside
dog with an older half brother for companionship. He loves to
play ball, but
is just learning about other toys and playing with other dogs.
He knows come, sit and down, but all of them need work. A basic
course in obedience would be just the ticket. Copper is housebroken,
crate trained, and uses a doggie door. He loves to be groomed,
and will sit for hours to be brushed. It is said that neither
the size of the lap nor the size of the dog determines a lap dog,
and that is certainly true in Copper's case! He loves to be close,
and will sleep at your feet (or ON them!) whenever possible. He
gets along well with other dogs and kids, but will chase cats.
He is very sweet and loving, and looking forward to forming a
mutual admiration society with his new people!
Our sweet 2 year old, Maggie, has
been adopted by Mary Anne who has taken time off from work to
help her feel at ease in her new environment. Actually work is
happy to have her take time off as she has been so excited about
adopting, that no one has been getting any work done!
Mary Anne works at Oregon State and lives close enough to be able to come home for lunch.
I wanted to send you an update on our boy Porter. We adopted him a few years ago and he is absolutely awesome. He is the perfect running mate for my wife and I and a great pal to our two children. Porter loves his trips to the coffee shop and Home Depot. This raw hide bone has lasted an entire week and he would much rather pack it around everywhere he goes than chew it to pieces. Thanks again and we may be in the market for another rescue soon.
