Success story: Chipper (#359)

Chipper 359 Chipper and Danny Greyhound
Tillamook, Oregon, has a new resident — Tipper, formerly known as Chipper (#359). His new mom and dad, are Terry and Kathy, who described Tipper's arrival at her new home.

Chipper was sort of lethargic on the 3.5 hour ride home.

We brought our 2 other dogs out (one at a time) into a free area, not on our property, where Chipper assumed the submissive position each time one of the other dogs approached. Danny (greyhound) was so excited to see her that he kept prodding her with his long nose to get her to get up and play. Missy (border collie) rather ignored the whole thing.

We took the 3 into the front yard where all were released from their leashes. Within minutes, Chipper and Danny were playing "you can't catch me" and Missy groused at them if they bothered her repose.

Kathy left for about 2 hours and I went into the pasture to do some rototilling. When I returned, there were 3 noses poked through the gate reminding me that they were being neglected.

I fed the 3 in the kitchen (about 5 feet apart) without incident and now Danny and Chipper are both lying at my feet in the office while I do some computer stuff.

We have decided to change her name to "Tipper", because it sounds almost the same and because her ears and tail are black on the tips. We really love Tipper and she is a part of our family now.
