Success Story: Toby (#427)

Toby Latest Update: February 20, 2004

Greetings! He [Toby] is great!! He has been the best exercise program. We walk twice a day for about 1.5 miles each. We go to the Gabriel Park dog park once a month on "bath day". Then he can get muddy and we go for the doggie wash after.

We went to obedience school which was great for both of us. I am looking forward to going to another more advanced one soon. He is maturing and becoming a perfect gentleman. His favorite command is "wait". He waits by the door before we go out. He waits on all the corners before we cross the street.

It is hard to believe that it has only been four months. Seems like he has been part of the household forever. We took a big road trip down to SF Bay area for xmas. He did ok.

Here is his picture from a trip we took to the OR Coast (Manzanita).

He is such a great companion. He has acclimated well to the new surroundings. I think he was unsure at first that this would be his new forever home. But, I think he is settled in now.

We are looking forward to the summer picnic. Make sure to let us know!!

Ken/Toby

Adopted Fall 2003

Toby Toby (#427) has settled in Portland with his new owner, Ken. Toby plans to take charge of the walking and hiking activities so that both he and Ken get lots of exercise. During the day he will supervise the activities of Virginia, Ken's mother. Ken reports that he loves his new toys and is very much a gentleman in the house. Toby and Ken had a little mediation session about which one of them had bed privileges. The difference of opinion was settled amicably by a new dog bed on the floor. During their first week together, there is a trip to the coast in store where Toby will enjoy, probably for the first time, the big Pacific pond.

Toby's foster family, Kathy and Rick, were very sad to see him leave, but happy that his long wait was over when he and Ken found each other. Toby and Ken, we'll look for you at the Golden Bond picnic next summer.
