Success story: Gunner (#456)

Latest Update from Pam and Dan: February 12, 2004

Gunner is such a character and such a joy that I just have to share some things with you...

Gunner is great! He's a happy dog and has gained 10-15 lbs. since we adopted him. He was only 95 lbs. then and the vet says he should be about 115 lbs. He is huge! Everyone comments on that and the size of his front legs. He loves to run and our five acres are perfect for him. He runs hard and is usually stiff in the evenings, but there's no stopping him. We give him Glucosamine every day that will hopefully help with any arthritis.

Gunner's name goes from Gunner to Dirt Dog sometimes! He loves digging in our far pasture for the moles. Sometimes all I see is his rear end and a big tail wagging. Of course, when he comes up his snout and front legs are filthy! We actually have to hose him down almost every night before we can bring him in the house.

He is also the most talkative dog we've ever been around. Haven't a clue what he's saying and its too bad there aren't any translators for dog talk. Ha!

Gunner makes us laugh and warms our hearts. We can't believe we were so lucky to adopt such a wonderful pet, who has made himself a part of the family in no time. Thank you, Golden Bond!

Adopted October 2003

Gunner (#456) has moved to Paradise, otherwise known as Cottage Grove. Pam and Dan have welcomed him with open arms to their beautiful five acre country home. His new owners are retired after working careers in Seattle where they felt it wouldn't be fair to have a dog. So they have long promised themselves a golden when they had the time and space. In their words, when they met, "...it was instant love. What a wonderful, big guy he is and we couldn't help but fall head over heels for him."

By now, we expect that Gunner has become acquainted with Helen. Helen is a wild turkey who has adopted Pam and Dan. Their relationship is one that certainly cannot be predicted in advance, but we all have high hopes for an amicable turkey-dog co-existence.

Gunner's foster family, Rick and Zoe, have enjoyed their first foster dog with Golden Bond. They plan to spend a little time bringing their Golden back to earth after a wild ride with Gunner. Thank you, Rick and Zoe.
