Success story: Max (#459)

 Max 459
Max 459
"I think we're in love." These were the words of Max's (#459) new family — Gail and 6-year-old Carlena — the day after a long, exhausting trip. They went from the coast where they were visiting, to Roseburg to meet Max, and then home to Portland. After just 12 hours together, they had already wiggled into each other's hearts.

This is also the beginning of a wonderful learning experience for Max and his new owners. Most of Max's short life had been spent tied in a carport on a cement floor. He was rescued by his foster family, Rick and Mickie, who gave him a crash course in love and family life. We know Max will never forget them.

Meanwhile, he has the wonderful prospect of growing up with Carlena, going to obedience school to learn good manners, and best of all, having his very own family to love.

Update: November 10, 2003

Thought you would like an update on my big boy Max. We are enjoying him sooooo much. And he is a happy guy!!! We started doggie school last week. I'm getting trained and Carlena too. Max is "Mr. Social" with other dogs and will use his booming voice to say hello and then try to run over to play. He is so strong that he can pull us over. So, thank goodness he is such a smart boy and a fast learner. We've been practicing all week. He loves garlic mashed potatoes and sleeps on the bed. What a lucky guy. We love him and are so glad that we waited for him. Thanks!
