Golden Retriever Rescue
For the Love of Goldens
Our little Dewey (#476), formerly Dude, a Golden/Beagle mix from Multnomah County Animal Shelter has found the most wonderful home! He and two other dogs were abandoned by their owner and brought in to the shelter by a neighbor.
Dewey is small, but so full of love and heart that it is hard to keep it all tucked inside. This little guy has found his soul mate in his new owner, Muriel, who lives in Salem with her cat, who Dewey gets along with famously. Muriel lost her previous Golden Bond dog, Hector, just three months ago who died at the age of 13.
The afternoon of his first day of adoption, Dewey was able to meet several neighbors on his walk including the Lab who lives across the street. The neighbors that he didn't meet in the afternoon came over that evening to meet the new resident Golden. He has yet to meet the Governor's little dog, but sure that will happen soon as they live just around the corner. Since they both came from a shelter, they will have a lot to talk about.
Both Dewey and Muriel will be present for their first Thanksgiving together at her son's home in Portland. Muriel will not go anywhere now without her new companion and Dewey loves his rides in the car.
Dewey has a wonderful life ahead of him and has much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. He will be just one of our many dogs who will say a little prayer of thanks for Rescue and all that has been done for them to find their forever homes.
