Success Story: James (#487)

Adopted January 2004

James Hi, my name is James (#487), and I am just about the luckiest Golden of all from Golden Bond Rescue.

I was rescued from my owners who just couldn't afford to keep me and give me the quality of life I needed. I was picked up just five days before Christmas and taken to Raleigh Hills Vet where Dr. Libbi Hawkins saw to my needs — and there were many — starting with a bath and nail clipping.

While at the vet, some wonderful people — former Golden Bond adopters Don and Katherine — brought in one of their Goldens for attention. Dr. Hawkins, knowing what soft hearts these people have, brought them to see me and it was love at first sight for all of us! Right there on the spot, they decided the vet clinic was no place for an old dog like myself to spend the holidays. Thank heavens I had just gotten my bath and nail clipping. I was ready to go home with them.

And do you know what? I have been here with Don and Katherine ever since, except to go back once to get the rest of my medical attention I needed before being formally adopted.

So now I am officially number four Golden Bond dog for them. Am I a happy camper? You bet I am!

Love, James

Update: June 21, 2004

James is doing super!!! He bonded very quickly with us, our other Golden and is a real sweetheart. All his health issues have cleared up. He is a healthy and happy old puppy and we love him dearly. He has lots of puppy toys (which he is very fond of) and lots of room to roam in our fenced backyard with Shelby — although, if truth be known, he would rather be in the house lounging on the couch which he thinks is his personal pet bed.

All is well with him and his new family.

Regards,
Don and Katherine
