Piper, formerly Peanut #457 has a older bother, Charlie (8 1/2 yrs). They love to play tug of war. Piper is learning to play fetch, although he is not very good about giving back the ball, however he is learning. At first, he chased one of the cats, but only to play, the other three he ignores. He seems to have a special bond with the one he tries to get to play. The main alpha cat likes to sleep right next to him. Piper has learned to use the doggie door and can go in and out anytime he wants. Piper gets to sleep on the bed at night and once there, he burrows in and melts right into Mary. Piper lives with Mary and Mike. He fits in so well it seems like he has been with them all his life. We have never/nor will ever give up a dog, which is why we can adopt a dog, but never foster one.

Piper loves his fenced yard, we have a large undeveloped area behind the house which makes for interesting sounds and smells. He loves walking on a leash, knows his commands but has selective hearing when he does not want to come. He likes to counter-surf for people food, but never takes it, just wants it. Piper really seems to know this is his forever home. He is loved, in fact so much he sometimes is overwhelmed. We're almost always home, so on the occasion when we not when we return all heck breaks loose! He has not been to the beach yet (we had our trip planned but snow got in the way) so he will see that in January. We go to the beach a lot. He loves the snow, gets all excited and does "missle dog" running as fast as he can back and forth. He fits in so well. We love him dearly and he became part of the family from the very first day. He seems very well adjusted, loves his Charlie dog, loves all the toys and attention. He was a little shy at first, but is really breaking out of his shell now. By next year we think he will be a very happy and outgoing dog.
