It is with great sadness that I write that Nugget #1698 is now resting in golden heaven.  His health has been rapidly failing this past month, and despite the great care from Annette Heaslet Lithia springs vet, and our family, Nugget's quality of life was no longer good.  He was a golden bond rescue dog and I adopted him when he was 9 or 10.  He had a wonderful life in our home and we miss his wonderful elephant ears, smiles and energy.  Woody dog is feeling his loss as well.  When we adopted him, he was overweight barely able to walk around the block.   Within a few months, he was taking doggy hikes on the trails, loved to play in the snow and of course he loved to eat!    I would encourage anyone who is looking at adoption, to consider the older dogs.  They are appreciative and loving and they deserve to live out their final years in loving homes.  Despite our short few years together, he gave all of us the wonderful gift of growing old and the unconditional love of goldens.  We are planting a tree in his honor this weekend and will be making a donation to Annette Heaslett for all the care she gave us - and to GB for all the work you do in supporting goldens in need.

NUGGET #1698 HITS A GOLDMINE! (Another Golden Bond success story!)

Nugget the Golden hit a goldmine this past week! He has now found his forever home and is a happy, smiling golden (with the very cutest dumbo ears!).

Nugget came into a family of golden lovers. He has another golden (Woody) for a companion, a cat that he ignores, and an owner who spoils him! We go for dog walks, to the lake and he loves to hang out in the yard and helps his mom with yard work. And he can go in and out in all day long (although I suspect he spends more time lounging on his super comfy dog bed). He has met all the neighbors and schmoozed all of them!

His only flaw is he loves cat food – which his mom has told him, when he starts meowing, then he can have it. Until then, he has to stick with canine grub. Of course, he has already learned the rule and has surprised us with how smart he is.

Thank you Golden Bond for helping me find my forever home. And special thanks to my foster Dad, Norman, who gave me unconditional love and attention until that extra special person came along.

And special thanks to all the kind, wonderful people at Golden Bond who help all of us looking for the perfect home. I found it and boy did I hit a goldmine!
