Gilda #1840

Adopted May 8, 2009

Gilda Mae #1840 (her registered name) is my first Golden Retriever. She is the most wonderful dog ever! A mellow ten year old, sweet-natured, quiet, relaxed, and well-mannered. This adorable girl is charming and goofy and funny, with a big Golden smile! I chose a senior dog because they are so lovable and also because they keep pace with my arthritic knees. Gilda is a little shy and doesn’t care for dog parks, but we enjoy driving to the various city parks around Portland (she loves those car rides!) to stroll the paths and watch the ducks by the ponds. Laurelhurst Park is a favorite. Gilda also likes easy games of fetch in the evenings, using two balls, as she "doesn’t hear" the command to "Drop it!" Her favorite activities are napping on her new "thera-foam" bed, watching my Siamese cats play, and carrying stuffed animals around in her mouth. We keep toys by every door, as Gilda cannot go anywhere unless she is carrying something.

A big, heartfelt Thank You to the dedicated and patient volunteers at Golden Bond who are so good at matching people and dogs!
