Gizmo #1851 has been adjusting well to life in Seattle! After her long ride home in our van, she slept most of the way, she settled in right away. When we got home, I think she realized we were her forever home family, she rolled over, let us pet her belly and gave us all kisses! She loves sniffing all through her walks and playing with her "baby" (which, according to my son, looks like a fuzzy platypus!). She loves to chase light reflections and she bounces her own rubber ball. Since Jenny, her forever home mom, works part time in the mornings, she seems to sleep away her mornings and is a good house guard dog. She hates large trucks and so Tuesday - garbage and recycle day is hard on her. We plan to all take dog training classes in May - we'll probably learn more than she does. Anyway, she is a sweet, mellow dog, who, once introduced to people and dogs, seems to do quite well.

We are so glad we were patient to wait 4 months for the right dog. You never know when you drive 3 hours to look at a dog that you saw on the Golden Bond website, if you will like what you see. But we are very please with our new family member! Being a new dog owner, I did want a younger dog but now seeing how calm she is, I think we were very glad that we chose her, an older lady, to be with us. She does not like her picture taken so the only picture we have is with my husband's cell phone camera - not the best picture unfortunately.
