Scooby #1808

Adopted July 12, 2009

We were Scooby's #1808 foster mom and dad. After 7 months of working with him on his dog aggression, severe allergies, and after suddenly loosing our 10 year old Bernese Mnt. dog to cancer, we decided it would break our heart too much to loose Scooby after all this time.

He and my husband are inseparable. He is like a new dog since we took him in last December. When we got him, he was malnourished, had very little fur, had terrible skin allergies, eye and ear infections, and was dog aggressive. Today he is healthy, has a full coat of fur, no more itching, and after two dog obedience classes is learning new behaviors when he is around unfamiliar dogs. He brings a lot of joy to our home and is absolutely a wonderful pet.

If there is any message to share with others looking to adopt. Scooby's story is a significant one. He had nothing much going for him when he arrived to Golden Bond, except he was a very sweet tempered, calm dog. Once he was in a home that met his needs both from a nutritional need, and provided him sound leadership and love...he has become a wonderful pet. Most people who meet him and spend any time around him can't believe he came from such a background.

The platform this organization gives to dog rescue is powerful and the Scooby's of the world are the reason we do what we do. Although Scooby's story is a great one, it is something played out over and over again. I don't know how to write a story without it sounding like a commercial for Golden Bond.
