Hi everyone, my name is Hooch #1811. My pal Buddy #1810 and I have found our forever home, so I thought I'd tell you a little bit about what our new life is like. First, a little about us. I'm 5 years old and my friend Buddy is 10. We've probably been together since I was born, or at least a very long time because I never want to be away from him, even for a few minutes! Mommy and Daddy think we were probably left alone all day (but we don't talk about those days so they don't really know) at our other home because at first we had to be able to see them all the time. Now that we've been here a while, we know that they aren't going anywhere, so sometimes we'll even let them walk from the living room to the kitchen without following them!

We've been in our new home for three weeks now, and we are so happy. Our new Mommy and Daddy are home all the time (at least one of them and usually both). We almost never have to be home alone. So far, we've only been alone twice, and the first time we did find some mischief to get into. Mommy and Daddy think I caused all the trouble, but I'll never tell! (Mommy says I'm a "rascal") We go for at least two walks every day, and my Daddy says I'm getting a lot better. Who knew there were rules about how to walk on a leash??? Apparently there are, and I seem to be a fast learner. I definitely don't bite the leash anymore, and I'm getting a lot better about tugging on it too! Buddy is so mellow, he just walks along with me.

We have 2 cats that live with us now, too. Their names are Holly and Scooter. After we sniffed them a few times, we just tried to leave them alone. It took them about a week to accept us, but I think they're starting to love us now too! I even shared Daddy's lap with Scooter the other night!

We have a nice fenced back yard that we can play together in, or we can play in the house. There's also a nice park very close by where we can play ball without being on the leash. Our new friend Scout lives nearby and likes to come play with us when he sees us in the park. There's always a lot to do around here....or we can just take a nap whenever we want.
