Ellie May #1815 (now Miss Molly) came to us as a foster dog, our first foster actually. She was in pretty bad shape when we first met her. She had been an outside dog for the first four years of her life and was very, very dirty. Ellie also had very bad teeth, and an ear infection. Luckily, she received wonderful veterinary care and was soon on her way feeling good again. Ellie is the sweetest and most gentle dog we have ever met. She is easy going and is glad just to be with you. In fact, you can’t go anywhere in our house without Ellie being right there. She is also quite smart. After being an outside dog for years, she only had a few accidents inside before she learned that she needed to relieve herself outside.

It didn’t take us long to decide that Ellie was a perfect fit for our family and that we would like to keep her forever. Fortunately our other dogs, a 9-year old Golden and a 3-year old Lab mix, thought that Ellie was as great as we did. They get along very well, although our other Golden had to learn to share his toys. One of Ellie’s favorite things is going for a ride in the car. As soon as she knows that she is going for a ride, she runs to the back of our Jeep and puts her feet on the tailgate, waiting to be lifted in. We still aren’t sure why she likes to go in the car so much, because she usually falls asleep before we have even gotten out of the driveway!

Her other love is going to the dog park and fetching a tennis ball. She is still learning that she is supposed to give it back after she gets it, but we are working on that. We are really looking forward to this summer. Our other dogs love going camping, hiking and to the beach with us, so hopefully Ellie will too. Thank you Golden Bond for sending us such a good girl!
