Rio #1821

Adopted March 4, 2009

1821_rio_1Rio #1821 came into our lives this past March. We feel that we are most blessed to have him here. After a few rough days at the beginning, He has settled right in. We did promise him that we would spoil him rotten for the time he has left. He has had two malignant melanomas removed and has sever hip dysphasia but we have his diet and meds going for him now and he is really a shining boy.

Now, from Rio - my day starts after I have been out to do my morning business and then I have breakfast. Next, Mom lifts me up on the bed for cuddle time with Pops and sister Abby, a mixed breed Rhodesian Ridgeback. (I cannot jump, yet) Next exciting event is going down the driveway to get the morning paper and going for my morning walk. Then home for a treat. ( If I beg hard, Rio says, Pops will give me a second treat) wag, wag, wag. Maybe we go into town and Abby and I get to share a hamburger. I'm an old guy (10 years), so I fit right in with Mom, Pops and Grannie (who is 88) and consider myself "retired" also !! What fun, having my forever family home all day with me to cater to all my wishes, which are mostly, "love me", "scratch me", and "give me treats"!

The rest of the day is spent snoozing, begging for more treats, mooching love, mooching more love, more snoozing and perhaps helping Mom and Pops outside. We have 10 acres and there is always something that needs my attention.
