Casey's Available Story

Meet Casey (#2128), a beautiful 2-year-old male who loves to play fetch. Casey came to Golden Bond Rescue after being owned by two different sets of owners. He was mostly an outside dog and did not have any idea what living in a house was like. It was tough on him the first few weeks, and he was very anxious. Once Casey learned that living inside was really nice, he calmed down quite a bit. Now he is taking every opportunity possible to make up for all the time he missed sleeping on the bed! He still has a lot to learn and will require patience in adjusting to his forever home.

Casey is a very energetic 70 pounds, and he can fetch a ball for an hour with no problems. He does, however, enjoy snuggling up next to you on the couch or bed and watching some television. He's flexible. Casey would be a wonderful jogging or long-distance walking companion. He walks fairly well on a leash and is very friendly with other dogs passing by.

Casey does okay with other dogs, but since he likes to be the center of attention, he would be best as the only dog in the household. He has not had a lot of experience around cats, but he is very interested in them. A home with no cats would be the best fit for him, just to be on the safe side. Even though Casey is a sweet and playful dog, he should live in a home that does not have any children. He can be excited by a lot of activity in the home so a quiet home with no kids is ideal.

He does not have many bad habits: He is house-trained, does not bark very often, loves to ride in the car, knows several commands, and is crate trained. He does like to "steal" items from around the house and run around with them in his mouth. He generally does not chew these items up; he seems to do it to get attention. This is something that will require extra attention so that he does not get a hold of anything that is dangerous. Casey will need a strong owner with previous dog experience. He is very smart, and sometimes he tries to get away with behaviors that he knows are not acceptable. He needs an owner that can keep him on the right path and continue teaching him how to behave properly.

With a little time and guidance, Casey will make a wonderful companion (and jogging partner) for the right person. Could that person be you?
