Josie's Available Story

Please say hello to Josie (#2138), an eager-to-please lady who is looking to bring joy into a new home. Josie came to Golden Bond Rescue from a previous home who could no longer provide the life they felt she deserved. Despite being a little nervous at first, she settled into her new situation and has been enjoying exploring the new sights and smells in her area.

Josie was originally in a shelter before being adopted at an early age. We're not sure of her exact age, but we feel she is somewhere around 6 or 7 years old. Josie has been an indoor dog her whole life. She hasn't had any issues being left unattended, is fully house-trained, and even stays off furniture.

Josie gets along well with just about everything. Her previous home had cats, so we feel she would be OK to be in a home with cats. She has done great with children and hasn't had any issues with other dogs. Josie forms strong bonds with people. She takes a while to warm up to people, but once she figures out that a person is alright, she follows them like she has known them forever. Josie seems to enjoy having another dog around, but she doesn't seem to need attention from other dogs to be happy. She would probably be OK in a home with or without another dog.

2138_josie_2At about 70 pounds, Josie is in pretty good shape. She is still trying to lose a few pounds to ultimately get to between 55 and 60 pounds. But she is showing quick results with a consistent diet and daily walks. Josie has a little arthritis in one of her back legs, but it doesn't really slow her down much. The doctor thought it was probably the result of an injury when she was younger. This just means that she probably shouldn't be playing Frisbee or jumping around all of the time. Daily walks and a little romping around shouldn't be any problem for her.

All-in-all, we think that Josie will make a great addition for almost any home. Make her a part of your home, and she will prove that we are right.
