Moe #2109 now Koa

 Adopted January 27, 2011

2109_moe_1January 27, 2011 turned out to be a pretty awesome day for me (Moe, now Koa, #2109), a 14 month old golden retriever puppy.   I arrived at my new home in Beaverton.  When I first met my new mom I gave her a big kiss.  She told me that this was going to be my forever home.

There was another golden retriever there named Buster who is 8 years old.  My new mommy told me that Buster was going to be my big brother and watch out for me.

They say I’m their late Christmas gift, you see back in November their sweet 14-year old golden retriever, Ohelo, passed away.  My mom says my kisses that I love to give her were just like the ones Ohelo gave.  I know they miss her a lot.

I am a bit challenging and a little rascal. My new daddy has a lot of patience with me. He tries to take me walking everyday.  I’m slowly learning how to walk properly on a leash without pulling him, though at times it’s tough because there are so many interesting things to explore outside.

2109_moe_2I have a great time playing with Buster. We have become great friends although he is a lot bigger than me.

My new family is wonderful.  They keep me very active.  I go on daily walks, play in their back yard, occasionally play at the doggy park in Tigard and even get to go to doggy daycare with Buster. Mom and Dad say it is school. I also get to sleep on a great big bed with Mom, Dad and Buster. I am so lucky and very blessed.

Oh, by the way, my new family even changed my name from Moe to Koa, which I love. Koa is a Hawaiian name which means ‘brave, bold, fearless & valiant’.  Mom & Dad says it fits me perfectly.  I really love my new family.  Thank you Golden Bond Rescue for giving me a good family to love me and a forever home.
