Dallas #2101

 Adopted February 12, 2011

Dallasz #2101Dallas #2101came to us as our 17th Golden Bond Rescue foster on December 21, 2010.  She was lively, happy, and quickly bonded with the entire family.  Our nine year old Golden, Chrissie, also accepted her and they immediately formed a Chuck-It Ball Chasing Club.

Once Dallas was ready to search for her forever home, she met three potential families.  They were all interested, but Dallas politely said, “No Thank You!” and came home anxious to go to the dog park and chase more balls.  In February, the family gave in and officially adopted her.

Dallas has mixed breed ancestry with strong Golden Retriever genes.  She has reddish, brown fur with a beautifully feathered tail, which she loves to have brushed.  She is extremely loving, affectionate, and intelligent.  She knows many, many commands and always tries to do what her people want.  At the mere mention of “Out” or “Car,” she runs to where her leash is stashed and has a wild tail wagging session at the door.

Dallas supervises our cul-de-sac from a front window, noting the activities of dogs, people, cats, and squirrels.  She loves balls, Kongs, chew toys, car rides, and playing in the water, especially when it comes from a hose.  Among her many talents are opening the back door and catching flies.

Our whole family is glad that Dallas chose us.

Dallas' Available Story

Dallasz #2101If you are looking for a well-mannered, happy, and playful young dog, Dallas (#2101) may be the girl for you. Dallas came to Golden Bond as a dog who had been loved, received obedience training, and consistent health care in her first home. She is a 4-year-old, 67-pound, Golden Retriever mix. Her eyes are strikingly dark brown, with black "eye liner" around them. She has medium-length fur with "feathers" on her legs and some black on her muzzle and tail. She doesn't shed much.

Dallas can be active and frisky. She likes to retrieve tennis balls and chew rawhide bones. Her favorite toy is a puzzle cube that dispenses kibble or treats if she gets it just right. She likes to go to the dog park and on walks. She is playful and friendly with other dogs. She is curious but tolerant with cats. Dallas knows a number of commands and faithfully obeys them: "sit," "come," "stay," "down," leave it," and "drop it."

Her house manners are excellent. She has no behavior issues that we have observed. Dallas is an all-around great dog. She would like to live with active people. She will do best with adults and teenagers.
