Reese #2164

Adopted August 21, 2011

Reese's Available Story

Reese #2164If you are looking to adopt a BIG, healthy, good natured, three year old male Golden Retriever, Reese (#2164) is just the dog for you. Reese came to Golden Bond when his owner had to change his living situation. He has spent all of his years in a rural area and likes to play outside, especially when there is water involved. He loves water in any form - from kiddie pools, to a hose, to a lake.

Reese is also an avid ball player. He never tires of retrieving them and he responds to "drop it" so that the it will be tossed again, and again, and again! Reese walks well on a leash and enjoys exploring the neighborhood. He seems a little uneasy when cars go by, probably because he has had little experience with suburban living. Reese's house manners are excellent and is completely house-trained. He is trustworthy when left at home alone. He has no bad habits like jumping up on people, or taking food from counters. He barks very little and never growls. He is just a big, happy boy.
Reese likes to be with his people. He comes often for affection and petting and ball play. He will enjoy  being part of a family who likes outdoor activities - walking, hiking, running, camping, etc.  He will not do well with apartment living. Reese is accustomed to living with other dogs.  He doesn't show much interest in cats.
Reese's only quirk has to do with eating and mealtime. He backs away from his food bowl when other dogs come near, as if he was low in the hierarchy in his previous "pack" of four goldens in his first home. Reese is an all-round happy, obedient, loving, and classic Golden Retriever. I know you will be as happy with him as he will be with you.
