Jackson #2162

Adopted September 1, 2011

jackson 2162Hello, I am known as Jackson (my foster Dad throws in “Action” sometimes - he thinks he has a sense of humor). I lived at my original home about seven of your human years, so I think I am about 10 years old. Foster Dad calls me a “red boy” with a bit of grey on the nose and throughout the rest of my fur. Mom says my eyes really sparkle and she loves my smile. When I got a bath and brushing a few days ago, they laughed about getting a little brother out of my coat. I am a laid back dude, ya know -  I can snooze with the best of them. But wait, I'm no sofa spud either.  I like being outside and can run around with the rest of my foster pack.  Well, I try to keep up with my foster brother, Josey Wales, but he is a sprinter!  I consider myself a loper. Boy, I do love leashes – it's outside time!

My foster folks live out of town, it’s pretty cool, and there is a lot of space to play. There is tons of space to roll in and I love to roll. The lawn is the best rolling spot, but I'll stop, drop, and roll anywhere (ooohhh feels so good). I love outside and can spend lots of time in the yard until it gets too hot. Inside is great too, don’t get me wrong. Like I said, I’m not much of a couch spud but I really like an open space on the floor where I can get stretched out. I never really had a bed of my own. I figure a good piece of floor is just fine in my book.  Foster Mom is trying to teach me about having a “blankie” of my own though, cause I need to have a spot all my own. I had a cat at my other home but WOW, these guys have a ton of them. I don’t care though, cats are cool if you just ignore their existence.  I draw the line at sharing food or my chew bone with them, uh uh, won’t happen, though I'm not food aggressive. Josey told me I couldn’t share his chew bone either the other day. I showed him my teeth and he showed me his and we barked a couple of times.  Dad won the exchange though when he barked and took the bone with him. Now he says there is a no-bone-sharing-rule in the house.

Jackson 2162I really like riding in the car and can jump in the SUV on my own. I am also not a heavy weight. I am slender and can keep up with jogging people as well as my foster sister Honey, who is no slouch. I got to visit the neighbor’s pond one day and found it very interesting. Then I took a long wet dog roll in the tall grass. I enjoy visiting with my neighbor lady Suzie. She has big dogs too and I am quite a social butterfly. Give me a large fenced yard and I can spend the day with you in the sunshine. When inside I relax in front of the couch or wherever it feels good. I think a forever home would be just fine with me. If you are looking for a young-older dog that doesn’t have to be trained, then I am your boy. So don’t waste any time. Contact Golden Bond Rewscue and tell them you want to meet me.
