Annie (#2030) "baby" (as we like to call her). She's very smart for her 10 months on this earth. She settled in quite easily to our home and hearts. She's a bundle of energy at times but knows how to relax and watch TV with us in the evenings. She loves our routine in the morning; she and I take a mile hike on the property and then in for our breakfast and coffee. She is quite the hunter and will "point" when she is just about to go after something. Taking her out for her first swim was so much fun, she liked the water immediately but didn't know how much until she learned how to fetch.

In just over a month there were many "firsts" for her: swimming at the lake and fetching, eating that first piece of cheese, popcorn, camping at the Metolius River, chasing moles, squirrels, jack rabbits, lizards and today, going to Obedience classes. She picks everything up very easily and classes should be a breeze for her. After losing our boy in April we were very lost without him and knew he could never be replaced, we are so happy to have Annie.

All of our pets have been boys because they happened to come into our lives, we never thought about a girl..........we feel that she is happy to be with us too. Because she has been shuffled around a little it is difficult to get her into one of the vehicles to go anywhere, although once we're out and about she has fun and will get in and out, it's just that first trip, I feel she thinks we might be taking her to someone else. We know in time she will get over this and when the weather allows we take her on short trips into town so that she knows that she is coming back home. Life is good for Annie and our family.
