Mila #1929

Adopted July 19, 2010

Mila #1929Due to fears induced by the noise of the Fourth of July, Greta (formerly Mila #1929) arrived in our home on July 5. She’s been bounced around a lot so she settled in somewhat slowly. However, my two lab crosses soon brought her out of her withdrawl. Greta plays tug-of-war with Oskar and run and chase with Senta. Greta found that she loves my grand-children as long as they are calm and quiet with her. She has been good at teaching them to act considerately with her.

Greta has even done some “dog therapy”. At a campout, one little girl accidentally hurt herself. The child became panic stricken when she realized that her mama was not nearby. I told the child that Greta was scared and asked if she could pet Greta to make her feel better. The child began to gently pet Greta; the little girl’s tears stopped instantly. After several minutes of petting, the kind girl went off to play with her friends, tears and panic at an end. Greta felt better, too.
