Sampson #2029

Adopted June 1st, 2010

2029_Sampson_1Stressed and anxious was how I was feeling while I drove to meet Samson (#2029) for the first time. I was leaving on an overseas work trip in a day. I was going to cancel, but Cherie (Foster Fairy Godmother) was so sweet and gave such high praises of Samson, I chose to go. From the moment I sat on the floor and Samson came right up to me and kissed my ear all my tension was gone. We had a love connection. I felt we belonged together. I was told to wait 24 hours in order to not make a hasty decision. I was on the phone during the entire ride back to my house calling everyone and sharing my excitement. I took a few photos and emailed them to friends announcing the new addition. The only downfall was that I would have to wait until I returned from my trip to reunite.

Starting form day one, Samson has been a pleasure. Almost too good to be true. He doesn't bark. He doesn't beg. He doesn't pull on the leash. He is house trained. He has a smile quite often and enjoys having his chin and nose rubbed. His demeanor is mellow and he just wants to please.

2029_Sampson_2Joining my family, he entered into a land of comfort and indulgence. I insist that Samson ride with me while I run errands. He is allowed on the sofa but is not interested in sharing a bed. He likes his own. He has 2 at home and one at grandma's house, where he spends the day while I am work. That is, if he is not at work with me or at doggie daycare. Samson has only gone to daycare twice. He needs to build up his confidence and his social skills. He is great at the park when there is only 1 or 2 dogs. But many dogs and loud barking is a bit much for him at this time. He will improve with time, I am certain. I am trying to ease him into the playground atmosphere. The woman at the daycare told me that he appears to want to play but stays on the sidelines afraid to join.

Samson is 4 years old but acts like a puppy. I'd like to think that he was given a chance at a new life by his previous owner when Golden Bond was contacted and he is starting over and enjoying the good life.

Thank you.
