Beatrice #1989

Adopted March 23rd, 2010

1949_Beatrice_1Hi, my name is Bea (Beatrice #1989) and I have a happy tale to tell. My forever family came down to Portland from Vancouver Island to meet me and take me home on March 19, 2010. My wonderful foster Mom, who had taken such good care of me and nurtured me back to health and happiness for three months, had told me that I would soon be leaving her happy home and foster brother and sister to go to my “forever home”. Now I live with my housemate, an American Eskimo named Winter and my new Mom and Dad in a little town called Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island in Canada. Winter and I really like each other and sit together on the couch in the evenings. When we go for walks, he shows me all the good spots to stop and sniff out E-mails that have been left for us. There are lots of nice places and trails to go for walks here and I especially like walking along the boardwalks and parks by the beaches. One of my favorite things is to go for car rides and as soon as I see the back of the car open, I jump right in. I know my new people love me very much and I feel happy and secure in my new home.

Six months ago, Bea was found wandering homeless, hungry, dirty and matted and was picked up and taken to an Animal Shelter where she waited to be claimed. With no ID tag, and no one coming to claim her, she was rescued by the kind people at Golden Bond. A wonderful team of volunteers helped Beatrice along the way, particularly her foster Mom, Cherie, who loved and nurtured her for 3 months and transformed her into the happy, healthy and beautiful girl she is today.

1949_Beatrice_2We fell in love with Beatrice as soon as we saw her pictures on Golden Bond’s website and contacted them right away. After communicating regularly with Cherie for several weeks, we felt like we already knew Beatrice and knew she’d fit into our little family perfectly. The first time we saw her she jumped right into our vehicle and on the long drive home, which included a two-hour ferry ride, she was calm and content. Although it was difficult to take her from her wonderful foster home, she has settled right into to her new home and has become a beautiful addition to our lives. She is sweet and gentle girl and loved by all who meet her. She learns quickly, is eager to please and seems to understand everything we say. Thank you to all the kind people at Golden Bond, and particularly Cherie, for making this “happy tale” possible for us and our “Sweet Bea”.
