Bridger #1998

Adopted February 23rd, 2010

Harvey's (Bridger #1998) report.
1998_Bridger_1"I was arrested in Waldport, Oregon as a stray by the Lincoln County Animal police and taken to jail. The people were very nice to me and gave me a lot of love. No one claimed me as their dog. I don't know why, I am such a love and handsome canine.

I was busy charming the people at the Lincoln County Animal Shelter on February 2, 2010, when a man and woman arrived to check me out. I went through my routine of sit, stay, and down and they whisked me off to their vet for a check up. All was well, so we went to a new house where I got acquainted with two other Goldens, one old guy, Duffy, and a young, energetic female, Molly. We ate and played, I was lulled into a false sense of security.

I returned to the vet on Monday and they knocked me out. When I woke up I had a hood on and they said I was now neutered. Then they said I had a tumor in my scrotum and the biopsy said it was cancer. I had to go the Oregon State Vet School for more tests. They shaved my tummy and and did a scan of my liver and x-rayed my lungs to make sure that the cancer had not spread, but it was all clean. I then went back to my vet for more surgery and back to the dreaded hood. I wish humans had to wear a hood, they would never put one on a dog again.

1998_Bridger-2Anyway, everything was negative, but I probably will have to go back to OSU for more tests. Frankly, I have a headache, being adopted by Golden Bond is not a walk in the park. My new humans seem nice enough and the food, toys and dog beds are all five star, however I will have to find a pro bono attorney and sue if they don't get off this surgery and vet school madness.

I enjoy roughhousing with Molly. Duffy just sleeps on the couch and watches.  Also they live in a strange place with people running around in little carts going out on my lawn with sticks hitting little white balls. I want to go out and chase them away.

I will keep you posted on training the humans. They don't seem too bright."
